Katherine Pogson's products are designed and make by hand in the heart of London, a stone's throw from the British Museum - a constant source of inspiration. Products are made to order or in limited editions, and individual commissions can be undertaken.
Every detail of the Hide Fold bag is crafted entirely by hand. Individually cut from a single piece of wonderfully woody-smelling, vegetable-tanned hide; scored, pierced, polished and stitched, all without the use of any machinery. Each bag takes about five hours to make.

The inspiration for this collection lies in the wafer-thin gold Etruscan diadems on display in the British Museum, which tremble as you walk past - but endure. Each piece is made from strands of jewel-coloured suede and lamb nappa, gilded by hand with real 23 carat gold leaf.
