Katherine Pogson Collections

Katherine Pogson's products are designed and make by hand in the heart of London, a stone's throw from the British Museum - a constant source of inspiration. Products are made to order or in limited editions, and individual commissions can be undertaken.

Hide Fold
Every detail of the Hide Fold bag is crafted entirely by hand. Individually cut from a single piece of wonderfully woody-smelling, vegetable-tanned hide; scored, pierced, polished and stitched, all without the use of any machinery. Each bag takes about five hours to make.

The inspiration for this collection lies in the wafer-thin gold Etruscan diadems on display in the British Museum, which tremble as you walk past - but endure. Each piece is made from strands of jewel-coloured suede and lamb nappa, gilded by hand with real 23 carat gold leaf.

A collision between fashion-forward colour, and folk art detail, the Navajo bag is produced in limited editions of only twelve per colour story. New for SpringSummer 2013 is a special beaded version.
"Native American woman meets the 1980s... Stunning hand-embroidered nappa leather clutch purse with silk embroidery and a suede lining." Heal's.

Katherine makes use of a range of decorative, structural and manipulation techniques to create leatherwork for individual clients. Moulding, sculptural pattern-cutting and hand-stitching are some of her favourite techniques. View Bespoke pieces.
